Join MONAH in welcoming back Gayle Ross, Cherokee storyteller for a virtual telling of traditional Cherokee tales. Ross will tell two stories appropriate for the whole family. In addition to these stories, a story-related activity and craft for children ages 3 and up is available to watch below!
Gayle Ross is a world-renowned storyteller, an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation, and a direct descendant of John Ross, Principal Chief of the Cherokee during the infamous Trail of Tears. Her grandmother told stories and it is from this rich Native American heritage that Gayle’s beautiful storytelling springs.

Cherokee storyteller Gayle Ross used a shaker in her story about Tsisdu, or Rabbit. Every time Rabbit had a part of him taken away, he sang his name, Tsisdu with a shaker or rattle.
